Srila Prabhupada Arrives in Singapore! Ratha Yatra festival celebration

By Devakinandan das

It is with great happiness that we announce the installation of Srila Prabhupada in his murti form in Singapore! This most wondrous event took place on the auspicious day of Padmini Ekadasi on Sunday 28 June 2015, during the most auspicious month of Purushottama!

The devotees in Singapore were infinitely blessed to have HH Subhag Maharaj, who took time off his hectic preaching schedule to grace the occasion. The programme consisted of abhisek for Srila Prabhupada, a discourse on Srila Prabhupada by Maharaj, followed by offerings, kirtan and arati.
By the mercy of Guru and Gauranga, this is a momentous spiritual milestone in the development of Krishna Consciousness in Singapore, and, doubtless, will now inspire us all to increase the quality of our devotional service, and our commitment to pleasing Srila Prabhupada and the Vaishnavas.
We pray at the lotus feet of all Vaishnavas, that by putting Srila Prabhupada in the centre of our lives, we will strive for unity in diversity and always remember the Supreme Lord and never forget Him, and His devotees.

In the Sri Jagannatha, Sri Baladeva, Srimati Subhadra Stuti it is stated:
karunamrta pathodhi sudhamne namo namah
dinoddharaika guhyaya krpapathodaye namah
“O You who are an ocean of nectarean compassion and whose abode is most attractive, I offer my obeisances to You again and again! You uplift and deliver the fallen souls, but how you do this no one can understand. O ocean of mercy, I offer you my respectful obeisances!”

Such are the confidential pastimes of the Lord as he descended once again in Singapore, despite all restrictions and constraints, to distribute His causeless mercy to one and all. This year, more than 3000 devotees, newcomers and well-wishers attended the Festival, pulling the Lord’s Chariot, and taking turns to lead rousing kirtan. Most importantly, with many of Srila Prabhupada’s books and transcendental prasadam distributed, the event was instrumental in reaching out to many new persons, who came forward eagerly to taste the nectar of Jagannatha’s mercy.

We pray at the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada and all Vaishnavas to bestow their blessings, so that we may become better instruments in distributing this nectar of devotional service.

Your servant,
Devakinandan das
