Gita Nagari Eco Farm report

As our global ISKCON family pushes forward into its 51st year, we can celebrate together the wonderful progress we have made for Srila Prabhupada’s pleasure. For individuals as well as our communities, farms, and international society as a whole, there has been much growth and renewal during the last half century. The Gita Nagari Eco Farm in Pennsylvania is one such center of rejuvenation, a vibrant project which is developing into an island of excellence in the United States.

This 350 acre farm nestled in the scenic Juniata Valley, surrounded by sprawling woodland and the Tuscarora Creek is home to a growing community of devotees, living alongside cows, peacocks and other wildlife. The picturesque landscape along with the simple yet well-equipped facilities has made Gita Nagari a select destination for devotional retreats and gatherings. In 2017 alone the following local, national and international leaders/groups have reserved dates for their events:
HH Bhakti Charu Swami
HH Devamrita Swami
HH Indradyumna Swami
HH Radhanath Swami
HH Romapada Swami
Bhakti Vrksa Groups
Urban Outreach/Book Distribution Retreats
University Clubs, Service Groups and Alternative Spring Breaks
Devotee Home Schoolers
Weddings, Yajnas & Much More

These events are additional to the already festive atmosphere created by the sublime presence of Sri Sri Radha Damodara, the world famous Sankirtana Deities. The residents and community lovingly worship Them along with their cows during all of the Vaisnava celebrations – and guests are especially welcomed! Longstanding traditions of outdoor Jhulan Yatra and an annual country style Ratha Yatra, 41 years in the making, are truly unforgettable experiences waiting to be had.

In recent years Gita Nagari attained USDA certification to become the only ahimsa dairy farm which is able to joyfully offer its milk products to the public. With a herd of nearly 80 cows and oxen in total and a vision for agricultural sustainability and self-sufficiency, Gita Nagari has emerged as a top choice for devotees interested in living a simple life in nature. Whether one is searching for a long-term residence or a place to visit seasonally, the ocean of devotional service nourishes the heart of all who call Gita Nagari home.

As an event venue, retreat center, farm project, and devotional community, Gita Nagari extends its warmest invitations to their ISKCON family members. Whether you are a long-time friend of the farm or a newcomer, we offer ourselves in service to you.

If you are interested in any of the above-mentioned aspects, please contact the farm as soon as possible. The farm is often booked out months in advance so please write or call the number below for available dates and rates.
