It is the living entity's constitutional position to be an eternal servant of Krsna.
Constitutionally jiva exists to serve Krsna and give pleasure to Krsna. By giving pleasure to Krsna jiva also gets pleasure. And it happens simultaneously and automatically.
Like when I put sugar on my tongue, the tongue feels the sugar and sweetness is experienced. The problem is when the tongue is cutoff from body, with any amount of sugar, tongue cannot experience sweetness.
In this analogy we have to understand that when I lose tongue I cannot experience sweetness through tongue or through any other means. But it is not the same with Krsna. When jiva serves, Krsna accepts that service and reciprocates. When jiva doesn't serve Krsna directly, Krsna doesn't reciprocate directly. But Krsna doesn't need jiva or jiva's service.
what would happen if there are no souls with Krishna?
Nothing, Krsna will be Krsna all blissfull. Jivas will be in material world, most jivas suffering, some going back to Krsna and reuniting with Him.
why Krishna at all had to make these souls realize that souls need Supersoul...
Krsna doesn't make all souls realize that souls need supersoul. Most of us r born and brought up for many years before we come to across the transcendental knowledge of soul and supersoul. There are billions of souls as humans that don't know a thing about soul/supersoul. Other species countless.
It is only to rare of rare Human beings that Krsna allows this knowledge of soul and supersoul. This is an open secret.

Difficulty.... r u joking. Krsna is GOD. The expansion of expansion of Expansion of Krsna sustains innumerable universes effortlessly.
Parasya Shaktir vividhaiva sruyate
svabhaviki jnana-bala-kriya ca(Shvetashvatara Upanishad 6.8)
His potencies are multifarious, and thus His deeds are automatically effortlessly performed as a natural sequence.
Now one may say may be He does His external deeds effortlessly but maybe be internally He has some emotional difficulty.
Ishvarah paramah krsnah sac-cid-ananda-vigrahah (Brahma Samhita 5.1)
The supreme controller of all controllers is Krsna who is eternally personification of ananda/happiness.
So Krsna has no difficulty with anything.
