pamho, Hare Krishna,

A few years back during Srila Prabhupada Book Distribution Marathon, a person crossing the railway bridge asked me:

Is there any book that teaches character and moral education to children ?

(I had answered haphazardly the Vaishnava Etiquettes book.)

You should have given that person Bhagawad Gita. And Ramayan as a bonus. Our scriptures teach moral education and character in a way nothing else can.

Any book of Srila PRabhupada serves to do the same. This is because the duty of every parent is to teach the child the purpose of human form of life - to inquire about "Who am I", What is my purpose in life. The answer is in SP books. Its easy to make children a money spinning machine ( get degree, job, house in gated community, swanky car, holiday in foreign locales). Its difficult to teach the child to go back home, back to Godhead. Its difficult to teach the child to use things and value people around.
