Radha Damodar Vesha – Costume Of Lord JagannathOn each year from Aswina Ekadasi to Kartik Dasami for one month, this Besha is observed on each day. On mythological belief reveals that while Akrura the emissary of Kansa taking Krushna and Balaram to Mathura took a bath in River Jamuna. Akrura saw this vesha crossed dress materials at the time of under wafer. This besha commissioned since 16th century at the time of expedition of Sri Chaitanya to Odisha. In this besha the deities wearing tri crossed dress materials at the time of besha. They adorned with Golden hands, Crowns made of bamboo plates and velvet clothing.

Chandanlagi Vesha – Costume Of Lord JagannathOn every day the deities adorned with Chandanlagi Besha efter evening Dhupa ( Supper ), schedule time of this Besha is 10 P.M . The attendants like Puspalakas apply Chandan ( Sandal Paste ) on the body of the deities. During this besha, the other attendant also present with sticks in their hands as a rite and offers betel to the deities.

Badasinghar Vesha – Costume Of Lord JagannathThis besha is observerd on every day at about 10:30 pm in accordance with record right of Sri Mandir ( Jagannath Temple ). Deities are decorated with flower/ This besha has been observed in 12 century B.C . Sri Ramadash matha are supplying flower and other required materials for the purpose. Changada Mekepa is supplying a special cloth known as Paata rhymes of Geet Gobinda are inscribed on this patta.Generraly, white scented flowers are required for preparing different ornaments for the purpose. This besha is very important .The celestial deities are waiting to witness the Besha. It is said that Atibadi Jagannath Dash used to go sleep after seen the Besha every day.

Krishna Balaram Vesha – Costume Of Lord JagannathThis Besha is celebrated on the thirteenth day of the month of Vadraba. This Besha has been commissioned during the year 1945 a land lord Gopabandhu Mishra on the direction of the king. This is a very attractive Besha in which Balavadra represents younger brother to Krishna and Subhadra as sister. The deities are offered evening alati on this Besha.

Abakasha Vesha – Costume Of Lord JagannathOn each and every day, the Abakash Besha Of Sri Lord Jagannath is made soon after completetion of Mangala Arati & Mailam. The schedule time of this Besha is between 6 AM to 6:30 AM . The morning brushing of teeth and procedure of bathing of deities is known as Abakash. It is said that this abakash has been introduced by Acharya Sankar. It is anticipated that in the 9th century B.C during the reign of king Jajati this besha has been introduced.In this Besha, the Puspalaka is offering three Pata to each Deties ie Lord Jagannath, Balavadra and Subhadra. One Cloth also offred to Lord Sudarshan . In addition to that the napkins are also offered to Jagannath & Balavadra as ‘Utariya’ during this Besha.

Chachery Vesha On each year from Phalguna Sukla Dashami to Chaturdasi for five days, the deities are decorated with Chacheri Besha. This besha commences during mid day. Fist the sandal paste applied on the bodies of deities. Special quality of cloths namely Bairani & Madhabali etc. are offered to Deities. The deities adorned with four ear rings locally called it “KUNDAL’ and two Tadagis. After that Goddesses namely Sridevi and Bhudevi go to south cabin.
