ISKCON Helsinki Project needs your help

Dear devotees.

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

ISKCON Finland has gone through many twists and turns during its 30 years’ existence. Now, for the first time we have been given the historic opportunity to purchase premises for Krishna’s service.

We are just a handful of devotees but we have been touched by Srila Prabhupada’s teachings and are determined to broadcast the eternal wisdom of Krishna consciousness in this Northern European country.

Many of our visitors have mentioned how here in Finland preaching spirit is still living strong - including book distribution. That’s the purpose of our new facilities as well; to have a place right in the heart of Helsinki metropolitan area, to give shelter for the devotees and people interested in bhakti-yoga in general. The message of Lord Caitanya could be preached all over the country.

The facility mentioned here suits perfectly the needs of the devotee community. It is a 140 years old Manor with a garden and is spacious enough for a temple, ashram and a vegetarian restaurant. The offer has been made by Helsinki City after a long and painful negotiation process. The price of the Manor is 260000 euros, which in Finland is a very reasonable price, as ordinary flats in the center of Helsinki cost the same.

To do this we have recently started a crowdfunding campaign at Indiegogo, which is one of the world’s leading crowdfunding platforms. The idea is that as many people as possible, around the world could come forward with their donations, small and big, and together realize this project. For example, a crowdfunding campaign was launched in 2012 to rebuild a Mosque in Joplin, USA, and the campaign collected more than USD 411000.

Taking a straw between our teeth we humbly approach all devotees and ask you with great appreciation to help us continue serving Srila Prabhupada’s mission here in Finland.

Please visit our page at

igg.me/at/spiritualplace

There you can see a short documentary about our project and meet our lively and active congregation. The page also has a facility for donation.

Please share our page in the social media and kindly leave a comment on it. In other words donating money is not the only way, although very much needed.

On behalf of the devotees of ISKCON Finland,

Avadhutacandra das

(Vice-president of ISKCON Helsinki)
