What do you mean by signed up member of ISKCON? I dont know any such thing. Regarding initiation, not required for these 2 services. To be able to do sankirtan on the streets of a foreign land, one needs to have a lot of conviction. That is the only qualification required - faith in Srila Prabhupada and desire to serve, help his divine grace in his mission.
Great to hear your thoughts. Do come back to this forum and tell us how was the sankirtan and book distribution experience.
It would be a good idea to go in a group though - it helps in both - sankirtan as well as book distribution.
