Regarding Over endeavour and Job

Hare Krsna,

I have a confusion. I am in my degree course in Computer Science. And after my degree completes I need a job. But the job of computer engineers involves too much over endeavour.

So my question is: can devotees do over endeavouring jobs like software engineering. or to be more specific, should I look for some other kind of work. I may not be able to leave the degree course.

Your Servant.

    Hare Krsna PRabhuji,

    PAMHO.

Pls read 3rd Chapter of Bhagavad Gita thoroughly - it is very nicely explained there.

To answer your question in brief, you have to do your duty, even if it has some faults, rather than someone else's duty perfectly. You are studying to become a software engineer. I assume you have an interest in the subject and also the required brains for it (this being the age of competition). So you have to work as a software engineer - you will be surprised to know the number of Software Engineers who are devotees.
It is no contradiction to do one's job and devotion at the same time.

Regarding over endeavour, yes that is an issue and it is required in your field - so be it. You have to see for yourself where you want to draw a line - how many hours of work to put in, what kind of company to join, how to schedule your sadhana to go with your working hours - all that you have to do - maybe someone can guide you personally - I hope you are part of a congregation where you ahve a senior you can confide in - else, you can take more personalised guidance in this forum.

    Best of luck,

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD
