mahamantra.....

Hare Krishna!

PAMHO!

Dear devotees,

I wanted to ask if a person who is no longer associated with ISKCON ,as is the case with my friend,;can chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra?

Actually he had some issues or misconceptions.....about ISKCON.....which i tried to clear with my low and insufficient understanding and referred to him to iskcon devotees.....but to no avail. Still he is a Krishna devotee....and may take Diksha else where. And i wonder if Diksha of a Krishna mantra other than 4 sampradayas is fruitful? And further i was wondering if he shud still continue with Mahamantra ....since lord chaitana distributed it to all irrespective of any barriers.

kindly help as in how can i advise my friend, since i wudnt like him to go astray.

HARI BOL!

  • Thank you devotees for your kind replies.

  • Yes he can surely as there is the power of the lord invested in the mantra and that will erase all misconceptions. Try to make him adore praphupada which will make the lord happy as service and love to vaishnavas makes the lord run to your rescue as soon as possible.

    Hare KRsna Prabhuji,

    PAMHO.

Like everyone else has already clarified, chanting of mahamantra is highly recommended for your friend.

To answer the other questions, if the disagreement with ISKCON is person specific, ie. with one or a group of individuals, then he is being plain silly. What is his aim - he wants to gel well with the ISKCON society or become a devotee of KRsna? Anyways, those individuals do not represent the entire gamut of ISKCON.

If the disagreement is of philosophy, then the best thing to do is to make him read GIta and SB, make him talk to some senior devotees, which I think you have already done. If he is still not convinced, atleast make him chant and if possible read Gita.

The best thing to do would be to take him to Shri Mayapur Dham or Shri Vrindavan Dham in Kartik month, Krsna will do the rest. After all, the mercy has to come from Him, so let Him decide which path your friend has to take.

It is heartening to see your concern for your friend. YOu are being a true friend to this soul by showing him the way back home, back to Godhead.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Rashmi

  • Hare Krsna! PAMHO,AGTSP,

In this age of kali, there is only one simple way to connect with GOD, is to chant Hare Krsna Mahamantra sincerely as much as you can.

  • Hare Krishna Kartikay Prabhu!

It is so nice of you to help your friend spiritually. I am in complete agreement with Krishna Mataji and Dean Prabhu. Lord Krishna is for all living and non-living entities of all  material and spiritual universes. So, Maha Mantra is also universal for all. Everyone should continue chanting 'Maha Mantra' as much as one can. Every time you chant '"Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare/Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare", you continually move towards Krishna. If your friend continues chanting Maha Mantra, he will certainly realize that he also needs 'Sadhu Sangha' or association with Krishna devotees in order for elevating to stairs of the spiritual path.

Without answering your question, I would sincerely like to say that misconception or misunderstanding with specific individual(s) should not be taken seriously. Instead, we all should focus on how we can be liberated from the pangs of the material miseries and go back to Godhead. We also be sincere in helping others to direct to the right path of love and devotional service to Krishna.

    With best wishes,

    Your servant,

    Amal
