KRISHNA CONSCIOUSNESS

We owe our lives to that Supreme Almighty. Particularly so when we are born as humans with the ability to discriminate and think.

Our lives should be dedicated to the service of Lord Shri Hari. This does not mean that we should sit 24x7 and just chant His names mechanically. Whatever occupation we are engaged in, sometimes in multiple occupations by the same person, we should concentrate and carry out the same to the best of our ability and leave the results to take care of itself. This itself is a great service. This also includes that when we pray we should do it with sincerity and the same logics apply, meaning that we pray for praying sake for our own satisfaction and not for any benefit. Shri Hari knows what is good for us. We should be satisfied with whatever we have and should not crave for material comforts which thoughts will lead only to envy, competition and pride. All actions we do should be dedicated to that Supreme Being as if we are doing the worship constantly.

I think most of our scriptures convey the above from different perspectives. Though these statements seem to be simple, it is very difficult for non enlightened persons to follow. How much time it is going to take for a person to reach such a level of maturity depends upon his craving for the same, his actions and deeds, and his sincerity. Hare Krishna.

  • Without association of devotees whose heart melts in love for Lord, what progress in bhakti can anyone expect.

    • Hare Krishna. Well said. One's heart should crave for and melt in the love for the Lord. The devotion (Bhakti) to Him increases every day as we listen to His pastimes day after day. Hare Krishna.
