Hare Krishna prabhu,

About a month ago, a friend of mine visited ISKCON Kharghar temple and there he observed surrounding the temple premises, the dogs are in very poor conditions.
He also spoke to one of temple watchmen, and according the watchman, the temple priest order him not to allow any dogs inside the temple.

As far as not allowing dogs is understandable, as  it might scare devotees who visit the temple. (though it is very rare or unlikely)

However, the dogs around the temple are in very poor condition, skinny and starving, without any shelter. There are only few residential complex around and that too not very close.

My request is, would it be possible for the temple people to look after the dogs around the temple? like feeding them (at least leftovers will work) and build a small temporary huts with basic materials (for monsoon only)?

Even I saw a dog few months ago when I visited the temple, he was wasted, and extremely week. He's barely 20 meters away from the temple entrance.
I fed him and watered him on that day.

Kindly do the needful and share this post to the concerned authorities so that they may show some mercy of Krishna to these poor creatures.

Thank you,
Hare Krishna

  • That sounds like a great idea!!! Bg 5:18. "The humble sage , by virtue of true knowledge, sees with equal vision a learned and gentle brahmana, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog eater(outcaste)"
