Is creation logical or it is haphazard ?

A tree does not give birth to an animal. An animal does not give birth to a bird. As Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita, everything is working under His direction.

Why do we forget the direction ? What is the cause of forgetfulness ?

Then why do bad things happen to good people ? What is the logic behind this for human understanding ?

Is the world born out of a big bang or is it created by Lord Brahma under the direction of Vishnu or Narayana ?

Once during 2004 or 2005 during a self realization course at Juhu Temple, our class was given a logical puzzle:

If a tree falls on a hard ground, will it make sound ? There is no bird, no living entity around.

Later today after some years, I found answer to this question to be why should there be trees in the kitchen ? or another answer I got is, if there is no living entity around, how would a tree exist there.

I will try answer your questions one by one.

Is creation logical or it is haphazard ?

You question is like,

is there any logic behind building a jail or it dont have any purpose?

The Government is not mad to spend a lot of money to build a jail,keeping a jailer and so many guards to take care.

The Government know that there will be some people who will go against the laws of government and will be a disturbance in the society.So,the government will put them in jail and provides basic necessities of life.

In the similar way the supreme personality of godhead also created this material creation for those souls who rebelled against the Lord.Instead of serving the lord they want to become lord.So,to give them the opportunity to lord over they are put into this material world which is like a prision for soul.Mother Durga Devi is like a jailer who punishes the living entities with Tapa-Traya.(1.Miseries due to body & Mind,2.Miseries due to natural calamities & 3.Miseries due to other living entities.).But when soul realizes that he is not the lord but the servant of lord then again he will go back to lord.

The process for realizing is Bhakti.Chanting hare krishna mantra is most effective process in realizing God in Kali-yuga

2. Why do we forget the direction ? What is the cause of forgetfulness ?

Bagavat gita 9.10

TRANSLATION

This material nature is working under My direction, O son of Kunti, and it is producing all moving and unmoving beings. By its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again.

In the above verse Lord said that the material nature,Durga Devi is working under his direction not the living entities.

Since the material nature is servant of Krishna,she very obedient servant and follows the orders of krishna.

But the living entities are given minute freedom to choose either to serve Krishna by following the scriputures or not to follow being ingorant of his position of being servant of krishna.

The cause of ignorance is,

Bagavt gita 15.15

TRANSLATION

I am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Vedas am I to be known; indeed I am the compiler of Vedanta, and I am the knower of the Vedas.

So,when soul desires to enjoy this material world,krishna gives him that facility by giving him the forgetfullness.becasue if he remembers that Krishna is the enjoyer then he can not enjoy anymore.

The desire of living entity is the cause of his forgetfulness and the lord is the witness.

3. Then why do bad things happen to good people ? What is the logic behind this for human understanding ?

This very frequently asked question and the answer is very simple that is Karma

even though a person looks very pious in this life not doing any sins.but he may be suffering due to his privious sinful acts in past lives.

There are many such incidents in sastras.

Srimad Bhagavatam 4:29:73 purport of HDG Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad reads:

It is sometimes said that because a child is innocent he is completely pure. Actually this is not the fact. The effects of fruitive activities reserved in the subtle body appear in three concurrent stages. One is called béja (the root), another is called küöa-stha (the desire), and another is called phalonmukha (about to fructify). The manifest stage is called prärabdha(already in action). In a conscious or unconscious state, the actions of the subtle or gross bodies may not be manifest, but such states cannot be called the liberated state. A child may be innocent, but this does not mean that he is a liberated soul. Everything is held in reservation, and everything will become manifest in due course of time. Even in the absence of certain manifestations in the subtle body, the objects of sense enjoyment may act. The example has been given of a nocturnal emission, in which the physical senses act even when the physical objects are not manifest. The three modes of material nature may not be manifest in the subtle body, but the contamination of the three modes remains conserved, and in due course of time, it becomes manifest. Even if the reactions of the subtle and gross bodies are not manifest, one does not become free from the material conditions. Therefore it is wrong to say that a child is as good as a liberated soul.

Chanting Hare Krishna will remove all the past and present sins if done without offense.

4.is the world born out of a big bang or is it created by Lord Brahma under the direction of Vishnu or Narayana ?

This is one foolish theory made by foolish people.It is very impractical dont have any basis.

If a bing bang can create this universe then why can not you produce a house by creating a small bang,just put all the bricks,cement and wood together and blow off.but this is utter foolishness.

We practically know that to build a house there should be proper plan,we need engineers and many people work days to build it with lot of effort.Any sane man can understand that this creation is made such an intelligent way by the supreme lord and the purpose is already discussed in the above question,that is to give the soul a chance to lord it over the nature in illusion thinking he is the lord of everything.
