When we say for paap done by humans, they will suffer punishment in hell. Okay! But it is true that aatma gets separate after a body of human dies. So, does that mean the aatma will face the punishment in hell on behalf of the karmas (sins) it did while it was in the human body? But, how aatma can take punishments because he will not feel the pain of punishment until and unless he is inside the human body? Please help!

  • After death, when a the soul comes out of the body it also has the covering of the subtle body of mind, intelligence and false ego. But it is given a covering of another body known as yatana deh or body designed espescially for undergoing tortures of hell. So , in this way, the yatana deh experiences the pains and horrors of hell. This body does not die even if it is broken, powdered or burnt. So, although the tortures of hell are very terrible even then this body perishes several times but also comes back to its original form immediately to undergo the tortures again. I hope this answers your question.
