The materials of construction, the methods of construction all were according to vedas and thus sustained for a long duration. More over, there is something called jeernodhara ceremony in which after the expected life of the temple, a renovation is made.

If you have been to Konark Sun temple you will know about it. I had been in April this year and learned some thing from the guide there. The temple is primary built using stone and layered by Iron plates. And there used to be a Hugh magnet suspended from the top in the Gopuram which held the temple tall over 150 feet high. But the magnet was soo powerful that the British ships that would pass this region would loose their direction as their compass would not function properly. So, they took away the magnet from the temple and the whole temple collapsed by few feet.

I have heard from one of the senior devotee about the Jagannath rath that was made in US in the initial days of ISKCON which got broke while taking on the road. Then SP told that we should not use any nails in making the cart. In fact, the cart in Puri are soo Hugh and are prepared without a single nail!!!

If we follow the vedas, then everything is possible.

Great knowledge Prabhuji,  as you said.. all temples are preserved if vedas are followed.

  • Jai Shri Krishna..

Dear Prabhuji,  could it be the amount of materials used?  The walls were very thick.. could it be that proper rituals of Krishna were observed and now neglected?  Whatever the cause,  Worship to Krishna is more important then the quality of temple constructed.  The strongest temple should be ones body.
